One of the top uncommitted athletes in the 2022 college football recruiting class will make his verbal pledge live Wednesday on CBS Sports HQ. Arlis Boardingham, a three-star athlete out of Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, California, will make his choice at 6:30 p.m. ET. You can watch the announcement live in the video at the top of this page, on the CBS Sports App or via your connected device (Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV).
Oregon and Florida rank as finalists for one of the most talented remaining athletes on the board with the Gators considered the favorite to land Boardingham, according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball projections.
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, Boardingham is a versatile playmaker who could slot at different spots on either side of the field. However, he will likely settle at either wide receiver or tight end. The industry standard 247Sports Composite Rankings list Boardingham as the No. 488 player in the nation and No. 31 athlete in the class, while the 247Sports native ratings list Boardingham as a four-star recruit.
Boardingham would be a strong addition to an inspired transitional class for first-year head coach Billy Napier at Florida. The Gators hold a top 20 class nationally despite only 17 high school commitments, and would jump to No. 16 in the country and into the top half of the SEC with Boardingham’s commitment. Florida also boasts four blue-chip transfers.
First-year Oregon coach Dan Lanning has also pulled together a strong inaugural class, ranking No. 25 in the nation with just 15 commits. Five rank inside the top 200 national recruits, and adding Boardingham would push the Ducks to the cusp of a top-20 class.
